From October 6th to the 12th, SWFW takes over South Walton with a large-scale celebration of creative fashions featuring rising regional designers and models. Net proceeds from the event, presented by Visit South Walton, benefit the Arts in Education Program of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County.
Fashion week kick off starts with a press conference on Thursday, October 9 at the Courtyard by Marriott Sandestin at Grand Boulevard, where a panel of celebrity judges, designers and representatives for Visit South Walton and SWFW will answer questions, offer interviews and debut SWFW''s signature cocktail, "A Bloody Good Time", a traditional Bloody Mary combined with local brewery .
This year''s Fashion Week will showcase a new interactive experience that fans will love, featuring "pop-up shops" that will bring national and regional designs to this The main event will feature fashionable festivities and include exclusive runways shows, featuring collections from nationally acclaimed designer Mychael Knight and New York designer Jin Seo of 51 Inc.
Among those judging the competitions are Knight; Laura James, winner of America''s Next Top Model Cycle 19 and Sarah Davidson, singer/songwriter and star of reality TV show Private Lives of Nashville Wives. The winner of the Emerging Designer competition will receive $1,500, a custom photo shoot from renowned fashion photographer Sheila Goode, a spread in the fashion issue of VIE magazine and a featured runway show at next year''s SWFW.
