Government of Canada supports the 20th annual Oktoberfest in New Ross

(firmenpresse) - NEW ROSS, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/02/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage

The Forties Community Centre will present the 20th edition of Oktoberfest in New Ross, Nova Scotia, thanks in part to financial support from the Government of Canada. Funding of $2,000 is being provided under Canadian Heritage''s Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.

Gerald Keddy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Member of Parliament (South Shore-St. Margaret''s), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

From October 13 to 26, Oktoberfest will celebrate the community''s rich rural and German heritage. Participants will be able to enjoy performances by local musicians and demonstrations of traditional cooking by local artisans.
