World premiere at the Photokina: Image with a natural depth of field The international market launch of dioVision® screens

We only see a flat image of a reproduced reality whether we are looking at a photograph, a video or a video game. But our brain can easily perceive a moving or still picture with a depth of field – all you need is the right visual way to make it happen.

(firmenpresse) - This natural phenomenon is used by dioVision® screens, which are being launched just in time for the Photokina, and purchased at a special trade fair discount. When the slightly curved Plexiglas screen is placed on a picture frame, TV screen, computer monitor, or tablet PC, the image immediately gains spatial depth and brilliant clarity. As dioVision® developer Oliver Heine says: “dioVision® makes what we used to see at a distance, as a neutral observer, suddenly become a real-life experience, which feels like you’re literally immersed in what is happening in the picture.”

How does dioVision® work?

How does this 3D visual experience happen without software, special recording techniques or 3D glasses? Basically, dioVision® is a purely physical image separation process. The screen is attached at a certain distance from the picture frame or monitor and covers up its edges. By looking at a photo or video through it, our eyes perceive two separate images slightly staggered to each side. Then our brain generates a spatial, formed or modeled picture – we are looking in stereo. A pleasant by-product of this spatial vision is that our eyes relax while watching, as if we were looking off into the distance.

An important factor for the optical effect is having a precisely sized screen for the respective monitor. Oliver Heine has manufactured three different dioVision® screens for the international market launch at Photokina. One is a TV screen for flat screens (55- or 78-inch monitors), a screen for an iPad and a specially designed iMac computer screen. Home entertainment film buffs, people who work at the computer and Apple fans can enjoy a rich dioVision® experience. The state-of-the-art screens will soon be available for other brands and monitor sizes too. The innovative dioVision® screens offer viewers an unforgettable visual experience, especially in combination with the laser-sharp images made possible by 4K technology and the new Samsung curved UHD TVs.







A wide range of possible applications

dioVision® screens come in a wide range of colors and designs and offer you the opportunity to add new flair to your home or office interior. Your TV can be designed to match your interior furnishings, such as choosing a screen made of high-quality aluminum. As an alternative, this screen can also be attached to a dimmable light box. An inserted photograph with backlighting not only has added spatial depth but is also an aesthetic source of light. Oliver Heine has also developed a changing photo frame which matches the iPad''s screen size. This allows you to temporarily place the dioVision® screen to give a photograph an added depth of field.

In addition to enjoying them at home, dioVision® screens can also be used in public spaces to achieve surprising and impressive effects. At trade shows, company presentations or exhibition rooms, as well as top-quality info and entertainment screens, they will attract attention everywhere.
