(PresseBox) - Weidmüller''s new FieldPower® WIND Energy System LED system offers convincing solutions for wind turbines: the system can be used flexibly in the tower, hub and nacelle. The compact FieldPower® LED lamps have a wide input range of 24 V DC to 120 V DC. These robust, durable, reliable components can be used even in extreme environments. Consisting entirely of pluggable modules, the system is based on two LED variants: FieldPower® MONO LED, which produces non-directional light that illuminates entire rooms and larger areas such as the nacelle, hub and platform, and FieldPower® DUO LED, which directs light upwards and downwards to illuminate the ladder and tower walls. There is also a control unit: the remote monitoring system displays status messages from the lighting system and can be easily integrated into existing wind farm systems. An optical alarm system in the tower can also be controlled. Last but not least, there is a DC/DC converter that transforms the supply voltage from 24 V DC to 120 V DC. The low power consumption of the LEDs causes only a slight loss of voltage along the cable and permits large power bus ranges with smaller conductor cross-sections. In addition, Weidmüller puts together a complete power supply system for its customers, customised for specific application conditions: everything from the power supply unit and a UPS with a central battery to suitable add-on modules. On request, Weidmüller also supplies pre-assembled cables that are ready for installation and equipped with proven Weidmüller connectors.
