New Talesun Module available on the European Market
Integrated measurement electronics enables direct monitoring in real time
(PresseBox) - Zhongli Talesun Solar, a leading international manufacturer of high-quality solar modules and cells has unveiled its Smart Module, a new PV module with integrated electronics. The built-in chip transmits information on the operating condition of the module directly to a monitoring system, allowing for immediate analysis. The Smart Module is now available in Europe.
The new module, which was developed in-house, contains an intelligent chip that replaces the conventional diodes and facilitates the collection of operating parameters in real time. This information is transferred to related data collection points for analysis. Operators of solar installations are now able to monitor the conditions of their power plants live on computers or smart phones. Potential defects and corresponding reductions in output can thus be identified earlier and rectified more quickly.
Solar power plants that utilize such technology are also significantly safer. In the event of fire or electrical damage, the electronics will automatically switch off the photovoltaic module. The modules can be isolated individually by hand or via the cloud. The danger of electric shocks for maintenance workers or for the emergency services is now a thing of the past.
More Modules per String
The new modules are compatible with all available inverters. Up to 30 percent more modules can be connected in a string, leading to a corresponding fall in the balance-of-system costs. Overall, the optimization of the module has the effect of increasing energy efficiency by up to 20 percent. "Innovation is one of the cornerstones of our company," says Gregor Albrecht, Managing Director at Talesun Solar Germany GmbH in Munich. "Intelligent photovoltaic modules are the next market trend: They offer users a safe way of more effectively utilizing the power of the sun which goes beyond increases in conventional module efficiency."
