(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES: When one looks at the charges leveled by Vicki Hufnagel’s website, she takes a scattershot approach, attacking everything from good people like Gene Choe to large multinationals. She attacks without basis, fact, or documentation, all under the guise of “beliefs, feelings, and opinions.”
So who is Vicki Hufnagel? Is she a credentialed legal scholar? A nationally renowned public policy expert? A former partner at a big Los Angeles firm? No. Vicki Hufnagel is former M.D. who lost her medical license soon after receiving it back in 1989. Did she lose it due to some administrative error? An oversight in continuing education credits? No. Her license was revoked on grounds of “incompetence, gross negligence, dishonesty, false billings and medical records, and repeated acts of clearly excessive use of diagnostic procedures in her care and treatment of six patients.”
She lost her final appeal seven years later in 1996, the date she was officially stripped of her license. In 2003, she lost her appeal for reinstatement. Why? While she ceased her medicinal practice in California, she continued medical advising, sending patients to a Mexican clinic where she performed at least ten surgeries.
While her website claims she is a “pioneer in advancing women’s medicine and a crusader for reproductive health rights and female reconstructive surgery,” her 1988 book, No More Hysterectomies, advocated procedures which have not been substantiated or validated by mainstream medicinal experts.
Is Vicki Hufnagel attacking others to draw attention away from herself? Does she feel she can claw her way back into relevance by attacking others to make headlines? How many more people will fall victim to Hufnagel’s zeal for publishing her unsubstantiated “beliefs, feelings, and opinions?”
