Time is money – this saying is true today more than ever. There is no way of getting around this precept, especially where productive manufacturing processes are concerned. Automation is the magic word here. And this requirement also determined the new development of eurolaser - the specialist for laser cutting systems. The new automatic shuttle system makes handling many times more efficient.
Simple and practical
The principle is very simple. The tables are changed over within a few seconds allowing the laser cutting process to be continued with no downtimes. While one table is being processed the finished materials can be unloaded from the other table and this reloaded again from an ergonomically favourable position.
This principle was developed a few years ago and has been implemented successfully ever since. The existing shuttle table version has now undergone further automation. Just the press of a button is all it takes to release the newly loaded table. Changeover starts automatically once the cutting process on the second table is completed. The new material is cut automatically while at the same time the operator can unload the finished parts without any interruption in the cutting process.
Up to 75% more efficient production
‘Our customers swear by the shuttle table system. The investment pays off in a very short time, especially in the case of machining jobs where loading and unloading of the work pieces is time consuming. Downtimes are unavoidable with other laser systems and this is where the shuttle table system comes up trumps with virtually continuous cutting. This high degree of system utilisation boosts production by anything up to 75% depending on the application’, boasts Frank Matschke, from the management of eurolaser GmbH.
The new automatic shuttle table system celebrated its world premiere in April at the InPrint in Hanover. The advantages of this technology for the further processing of printed materials were demonstrated at the joint eurolaser and Canon stand. This innovative automation of the laser systems is on show at the Application Center of eurolaser in Lüneburg as of now, where it is available for live demonstrations.
