Impressed by the portfolio size and technical integration
(PresseBox) - The visit at the Leipzig based energy trading house is part of the Germany tour of the Philippine Energy Minister and his high ranking delegation, aimed at finding out more about the integration of renewable energies in the energy market.
The trip is being organised by the German Association for International Co-operation (GIZ) in the framework of the International Climate Protection Initiative of the German Ministry of the Environment.
The main focus of the trip is on Germany's experience to date with the Act Prioritising Renewable Energies and the current market design of the market premium model.
Prioritised grid access for renewable energies will come into force this year in the Philippines. Additionally, the first solar and wind power plants will be added as part of the feed-in regime to the network this year.
An insight, for example into the model for the direct marketing of renewable energies, should help the Energy Minister to gain a better understanding of the market development opportunities.
In the two-hour presentation and discussion session, emphasis was primarily on e2m's practical experience in incorporating decentralised generation systems in a virtual power plant, the integration of renewable energies in the energy market and the provision of control energy.
The participants of the delegation were impressed by the portfolio size, the degree of technical integration and the potential that e2m offers operators of decentralised generating plants.
Energy2market GmbH (e2m) www.energy2market.de is an independent trading house for direct marketing and control energy which pools the interests of small and mid-sized energy producers. e2m currently bundles around 3.290MW energy output in its virtual power plant and is thus the second largest direct marketing operator in Germany.
e2m is additionally the first independent generator pool which is authorised on the market as a single source supplier for all three control energy types. More than 2,700 decentralised generating plants from the fields of biogas, biomass, hydro, wind and solar power and cogeneration are given the opportunity to increase their flexibility and thus gain a firmer foothold in the energy market.
