HARTING looks to provide users with benefits from Industry 4.0 technologies

ID: 1293698

(PresseBox) - The almost revolutionary changes brought about by Integrated Industry are impacting the concrete structure of industrial production systems. Systems are increasingly being built in modular format. Modular plant structures require module-neutral, i.e. generic, infrastructure. In addition, the future infrastructure of Smart Factories will be scalable, highly available, and offer all the necessary topologies.
HARTING Technology Group is a member of "Smart FactoryKL", a consortium of technology leaders and research institutions that has set itself the goal of making the benefits of Industry 4.0 technologies a reality for users. Together with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), a new Smart Factory is being designed that implements the essential elements of Integrated Industry. Consequently, this year's Hannover Messe trade fair (April 7-11, 2014) will demonstrate the "next steps of Integrated Industry" with regard to industrial production.
The new "Smart Factory" is a modularly constructed system being built by Smart partners in manufacturer-autonomous manner. This permits innovative technologies to be tested in a realistic industrial production environment. Thus, HARTING Technology steps in precisely at the interface between research and industrial practice. The associated module-neutral infrastructure crucial for the future - HARTING has already tested previous versions - can be inferred from the technological changes which Integrated Industry has brought with it. Here, the individual modules and the service they provide stand in the foreground. These modules can be produced by various different manufacturers. They are both flexible and variable, meaning they can be deployed in different locations and in different production processes for different products. Connection to supply lifelines can be largely harmonized with HARTING's solutions.
