ESMT welcomes largest MBA intake in the school?s history

The Class of 2014 has taken up their MBA studies at ESMT European School of Management and Technology in January. The 24 women and 39 men are the ninth intake of the one-year full-time MBA at the international business school in Berlin.
The number of students increased by 19 percent over 2013, while 38 percent of the class is female. The students come from 34 different countries, making this class the most international in ESMT's history. For the first time, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Croatia, Cuba, Mongolia, Serbia, Syria, and Tajikistan are represented. The students are on average 30 years old and have seven years of work experience.
This year, three students from Guatemala, South Africa, and Tajikistan will complete the MBA degree as Kofi Annan Fellows. The full scholarship supports students from developing countries who plan to return to their home countries and contribute to the region's economic development. Ten Kofi Annan Fellows have graduated from ESMT since the fellowship was first awarded in 2011.
"The continual growth of our full-time MBA program shows that the program's focus on the Management of Innovation and Technology and Global Sustainable Business is proving attractive to applicants. The strong German economy is also a pull factor for international students. On average, 90 percent of our full-time MBA participants are international students, more than half of whom remain in Germany after graduation," said Nick Barniville, MBA director at ESMT.
Maximilian Eils, one of the 63 new students, commented, "ESMT's excellent faculty, the well thought-out curriculum, and the personal support I received during the application process convinced me that ESMT was the best choice for me. I look forward to working together with such a diverse group of peers."
