Gateway links CAN busses via WLAN
(PresseBox) - PEAK-System complements its new gateway product family by a WLAN-enabled device. The PCAN-Wireless Gateway DR allows the connection of different CAN busses over WLAN. CAN frames are wrapped in TCP or UDP message packets and are then forwarded via the IP network from one device to the other. The configuration of the device is done via a comfortable web interface.
The PCAN-Wireless Gateway DR has two High-speed CAN channels with a bit rate of up to 1 Mbit/s. The WLAN interface supports IEEE 802.11 b/g and establishes its connection via an external dipole antenna (2.4 GHz). Due to the extended operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F) and the plastic housing for mounting on a DIN rail, the PCAN-Wireless Gateway DR is suitable for use in industrial environments.
