(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/29/13 -- On Friday, November 29, 2013, a delegation of flight attendants, members of CUPE Airline Division, will present a petition to the Constituency Office of Lisa Raitt, Federal Minister of Transport. The petition is urging the federal government to stop jeopardizing the safety of passengers aboard aircrafts.

A protest will be held first in front of Ms Raitt's office. Then, the delegation will present the petition. Media representatives are invited to this event. CUPE National President Paul Moist and CUPE Airline Division President Michel Cournoyer will be available to answer questions from journalists.

Transport Canada has announced its intention to allow all Canadian air carriers to reduce the number of flight attendants on their aircrafts. However, flight attendants play an important role in ensuring the safety of passengers in emergency situations.
