Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SAICI(R)) Improves in November Despite Affordable Care Act, Partisan Gridlock Concerns
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 11/26/13 -- The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) gained two points in November to 10, its second-highest reading in the last 10 months, Spectrem Group announced today. The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) increased 5 points to 1.
The monthly indices measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with more than $500,000 in investable assets and more than $1 million in investable assets, respectively.
Buoyed by unprecedented highs reached by the Dow this month, Affluent investors are expressing more confidence in the economy and indicating they will be stepping back into the market in the coming month. "The improvements in the Spectrem indices indicate that for now the robust market is trumping any concerns by Affluent investors over last month's government shutdown and debt ceiling debate, the troubled launch of the Affordable Care Act website, and continuing partisan gridlock," said George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "Spectrem's monthly survey of how Affluent investors intend to invest in the coming month finds an increasing number planning to move off the sidelines and invest in equities."

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI ®) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets. The Index has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI ®) is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
