VIA Appoints John Weber as CEO to Lead VIA's Manufacturing Ramp Up
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/21/13 -- VIA Motors announced today that John Weber, former president and CEO of has accepted an invitation to join and serve as VIA's new Chief Executive Officer.
"John's many years of experience as an auto industry manufacturer and his keen leadership skills make him a tremendous asset to VIA Motors as we ramp up production and work more closely with OEMs," said Kraig Higginson, co-founder of VIA and former CEO. We are fortunate to have John's expertise and experience, Higginson noted. Mr. Higginson will continue serving on VIA's board of directors.

The appointment of Mr. Weber marks the transition from the development company into a significant player in electric automobile manufacturing. Remy is a key supplier to both General Motors and VIA, and has been working with under a joint development agreement since 2011. Prior to working with Remy, Weber has held executive positions at several leading companies including GE, Allied Signal, McKinsey, Honeywell and Shell. Weber has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Harvard University.
