Vonage Launches Extensions(R), Giving Customers the Ability to Use Their Voice Plan On-The-Go
Innovative feature is free to new and existing customers and delivers huge benefits to heavy international callers
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 11/20/13 -- announces the UK launch of the ® feature, giving customers the ability to extend their home calling plan to a mobile phone. The innovative solution means that new and existing customers who are on-the-go but want to continue using their Vonage voice service to make local and international calls, can now do so anytime, anywhere and from whichever device they choose.
For even greater convenience, a free, patented Vonage Extensions app is available for iPhone® and Android™ users, enabling customers to use their Vonage home phone plan from their smartphone. The Extensions app works over 3G/4G1 or Wi-Fi and provides one-touch dialling directly through a user's existing contact list.
Currently, consumers have one calling plan for their home phone and another for their smartphone. Extensions brings both of these together onto one device. International callers, who have previously contracted with Vonage for its unlimited2 international calling plans, can now use the app to continue calling under their existing plan, even when they're not at home or in the office. In areas of poor mobile coverage, customers can benefit by calling over their Wi-Fi connection. Similarly, for those travelling internationally, the Extensions app can be used over Wi-Fi to avoid hefty cellular roaming charges when making calls.

To start using Extensions, customers can simply download the Extensions app on their iPhone or Android device via iTunes® or Google Play™. Non-smartphone users can add Extensions by logging into their online account at or speaking with a Vonage Customer Care agent. After linking the number to their Vonage account, customers can use the Extensions feature to call national and international numbers at the same rates available from their Vonage home calling plan.
