Fourth Annual LimmudBoston Conference Celebrates Everything Jewish
The Range and Breadth of Jewish Life Under One Roof on December 8
(firmenpresse) - WABAN, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/19/13 -- In its annual, volunteer-driven all-day conference, will showcase sessions on Torah text, Israel, lifecycle moments, spirituality, interfaith discussions and social justice on December 8, 2013. Additionally, there will be play readings, storytelling fests and musical performances all within the one-day setting, held again this year at filling Congregation Mishkan Tefila, in Chestnut Hill, MA.
The popular Camp Limmud program for children ages 3-13 encourages whole families to enjoy this great day. (Camp Limmud advance registration required.)
Serving as LimmudBoston 2013 chairs are LimmudBoston founder, Steffi Aronson Karp of Waban, MA, and Terri Swartz Russell of Lexington, the Family Educator at Newton's Temple Emanuel. The Program Team is led by Wendy Liebow of Lexington and Barbara Posnick of Wayland. Their team members shaped the conference by choosing 100 sessions from among nearly 200 proposals. "These are always tough decisions since almost all of the sessions enticed a majority of our panel members," said one member of the LimmudBoston program team.
Some highlights of this year's LimmudBoston conference include:
Shai Held, a scholar from Mechon Hadar, speaking on Abraham Joshua Heschel
Joyce Miriam Friedman in a one-woman show exploring her family's parallel lives on both sides of the ocean
Steven Lee Beeber and Michael Croland tracing the Jewish history of punk
Jeffrey Salkin, author of "Putting God on the Guest List," and his new book, "The Gods are Broken: The Hidden Legacy of Abraham"
Sandra Daitch, leading a session on Laughter Yoga with a Jewish Accent
Multiple amazing storytelling and musical performances
Besides kosher lunch offerings from Catering by Andrew, the new kosher food truck, The Chubby Chickpea, will also be at LimmudBoston.
In addition to 100 presentations, panels and performances, LimmudBoston 2013 ends with a Grand Finale concert at 5:00PM featuring Peri Smilow and Ellen Allard and other musical guests.
In honor of this year's historic Thanksgiving-Hanukkah combination of Thanksgivikkuh, advanced registration rates have been held at only $36 per person. Walk-in registration is $45. See the complete schedule at
