GGU's Ageno School of Business Professor Henry "Hank" Pruden, PhD, received the Lifetime Achievement from the International Federation of Technical Analysts. The Lifetime Achievement Award honors the career achievements of a technical analysis practitioner who has made extraordinary contributions to technical analysis. This honor goes to a technician who has demonstrated the highest standards of personal and professional conduct and who is held in great regard by his/her peers and the investment community at large.

Considered one of the on Technical Analysis education, Professor founded and developed GGU's first Technical Analysis course in 1976. The nationally prominent graduate Technical Analysis Certificate was launched in the 1990s, making the University the first college in the U.S. to offer accredited courses in this field. The program enhances professional capabilities of traders, advisers, portfolio managers and brokers in stocks, bonds, derivatives and commodities. Reflecting the growing need for professional credentials, the program is aligned with and helps prepare students for either the Chartered Market Technician or the Chartered Financial Technician examinations. Professor Pruden has taught at GGU for nearly 40 years.

For the seventh consecutive year, Professor Blodwen Tarter, PhD, earned an award in the 2013 Marketing EDGE Jacobs & Clevenger case-writing competition. As the academic arm of the Direct Marketing Association, the Marketing EDGE supports research and teaching of direct and interactive marketing. Written with co-author Debra Zahay-Blatz (Aurora University), their case, titled "ECB.com Segmentation and Profiling" was awarded second place. The case focuses on the use of customer data for marketing analytics, based on a 60,000-record dataset.

A full-time GGU professor for eight years, Professor Tarter teaches marketing management, direct and database marketing, digital marketing and e-commerce, as well as new product development.





GGU, a private nonprofit, has been helping adults achieve professional goals by providing undergraduate and graduate education in accounting, law, taxation, business and related areas for more than 110 years. GGU enrolls 5,000 students annually and represents 68,000 alumni.

The school's main campus is in San Francisco, with additional teaching sites in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Seattle. Most degree programs are also available online. Founded in 1901, GGU is accredited by the American Bar Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
