Governor General of Canada Welcomes President of the Republic of Peru
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/15/13 -- Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will welcome His Excellency Ollanta Humala Tasso, President of the Republic of Peru, on the occasion of his State visit to Canada, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. The President's State visit to Canada will further strengthen the well-established diplomatic relations between Canada and Peru.
In December 2012, the Governor General met with the President during his official visit to Peru.
"Sharon and I are looking forward to meeting with President Humala, who offered us such a warm welcome to his country during our visit in 2012," said the Governor General. "His hospitality was very much appreciated and we hope to reciprocate during his stay at Rideau Hall. Canada and Peru have a strong and-most importantly, growing-relationship, which is anchored in shared values. I am pleased to see that our ties continue to grow and that our people are working together to foster a lasting friendship that will benefit both our nations."
