Organization Brings Popular Women in Computing Conference to the Global Stage

(firmenpresse) - PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/12/13 -- The Anita Borg Institute, a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in computing, kicks off its (GHCI) tomorrow, November 13th, at the Lalit Ashok Hotel, Bangalore, India. Following the success of the 2013 Grace Hopper Celebration in Minneapolis, MN in October, GHCI promises to be the largest gathering of women technologists in India. The conference will run three days from November 13th to 15th.

The theme "Together We Rise," encourages women in computing to collaborate across many different facets of the industry to create a larger and stronger network of women within the technical community. The 2013 keynote speakers include Aruna Jayanthi, CEO, Capgemini India; Anjali Arora, VP Solutions Development, AllScripts; Neelam Dhawan, Managing Director, HP India; Nora Denzel, Board Member at Ericsson, Board Member at Coinstar and Board Member at Saba; and Kumud M. Srinivasan, President of Intel India.

"GHC India is very unique in its ability to bring together top women technologists in India to network, learn, share ideas, explore new work opportunities and celebrate the increasing impact women in technology are having in this region of the world," said Telle Whitney, president and CEO of The Anita Borg Institute.

GHCI brings together women in the computing industry in India, to highlight their research and further their career interests in technology. Similar to the Anita Borg Institute's annual U.S. Grace Hopper Celebration, prominent women technologists will present in both technical and career advancement sessions. The conference features keynote speakers, panels, workshops, technical poster presentations, a woman-led Hackathon, and the Women Entrepreneur Quest award ceremony.
