Volkswagen Appoints Vinay Shahani Vice President, Marketing
(firmenpresse) - HERNDON, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/11/13 -- Volkswagen of America today announced the appointment of Vinay R. Shahani, 39, to the post of Vice President, Marketing for the Volkswagen brand. Shahani will lead and direct all aspects of marketing for the Volkswagen brand in the United States. He will report directly to Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.

"Vinay's in-depth automotive experience, leadership skills, as well as his proven track record in comprehensive brand building will be important assets as we continue to develop the foundations for future growth in this market."
Shahani comes to the Volkswagen brand from Nissan North America in Franklin, TN, where he most recently served as the Director of Marketing for the Nissan Brand. Shahani spent nine years at Nissan in various sales and marketing functions. Prior to that, Shahani worked for Sun Microsystems, Arthur Andersen and Ford Motor Company in a variety of marketing, management and engineering roles. Shahani earned an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Business Administration and Engineering from Stanford University.
