Minister Ritz Announces the Reappointment of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Wheat Board
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/08/13 -- Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz today announced the reappointment of Ian White as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB).
"I am pleased that Mr. White has agreed to continue serving as the CWB's President and CEO," said Minister Ritz. "Mr. White has shown exceptional leadership during a time of significant transition for the CWB. He has my full support and confidence in continuing to lead the CWB as a voluntary marketing option for farmers during the transition period and in the preparation of a privatization plan."
Mr. White's reappointment is for a two-year term effective March 31, 2014.
The CWB has a five member Board of Directors which is appointed by the Government of Canada. The President and CEO is appointed by Order in Council after consultation with the CWB. The object of the corporation is to market grain for the benefit of producers who choose to deal with the Corporation.

Biographical Notes
Ian White
Ian White became the President and CEO of the Canadian Wheat Board on March 31, 2008 and was reappointed in 2011. He came to the CWB with a comprehensive understanding of the agriculture industry accumulated during the course of his extensive career as a senior agribusiness executive in Australia, Canada and the United States. He has held senior executive posts with a number of agribusiness companies: Queensland Sugar Ltd., Queensland Cotton Ltd., Defiance Mills Ltd. and Grainco Ltd. Mr. White's wide-ranging professional experience has included responsibility for international and domestic commodity marketing, customer relationships as well as grower relations, in both statutory and non-statutory marketing environments in Australia and North America. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a fellow of the Australia Institute of Company Directors. Mr. White graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree.
