(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/08/13 -- If the movie "Back to the Future II" is correct, on October 21st, 2015 we'll all be riding around on Hoverboards. To celebrate this occasion on Monday, October 21st, 2013, ZBoard announced their limited edition Hoverboard Edition! ZBoard will be exhibiting this board at the in New York on Nov 8-11th.
The ZBoard Hoverboard is available on Indiegogo, with proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
To promote this project for charity, the ZBoard team has filmed an over-the-top promotional video that includes a Delorean, the memorable costumes, and light-up shoes, along with special effects and music inspired by the movie.
From early in the development of the ZBoard, people often compared it to the Hoverboard from Back to the Future Part II. Its hands-free operation has inspired freedom and fun for friends, customers, viewers, and kids at heart of all ages all around the world. Although the ZBoard doesn't truly "hover," it does give the feeling and thrill of floating over the ground as you surf the sidewalks to your destination.
To celebrate Back to the Future Day this October 21st, we are excited to announce the ZBoard Hoverboard, a limited edition electric skateboard inspired by the Hoverboard in the 1989 movie.
With this model, we're embracing our inner movie nerd, while doing what we can to support a great cause. Proceeds from this model will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, in honor of his tireless work as an advocate for those living with the debilitating neurological disorder, and of course, for his performance as Marty McFly.
This is an important personal issue to me, as Parkinson's Disease has affected the past three generations of my family, and may affect me one day as well. It profoundly impacts quality of life for those afflicted as they gradually lose the ability to control muscle movement, concentration, and communication. Some have described the later stages as being trapped in one's own body, before it can eventually cause death. There is unfortunately no known cure and much remains to be learned about how it works and how it can be prevented.
