NYC Burlesque Troupe, "The Wild Cherryz," Brings 'Arcana Lace' to the Famed Cutting Room in Manhattan
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/06/13 -- Elizabeth DeGennaro, Actor and Founder of the renowned New York City Burlesque Troupe, "The Wild Cherryz," brings her show, 'Arcana Lace' to the famed Cutting Room in Manhattan on November 22nd, 2013. Inspired by her role on HBO's, Boardwalk Empire, 'Arcana Lace' incorporates the music and theme of a 1930s "Carnival."
Ms. DeGennaro states, "Burlesque was big, and it was classy. The music was so heartfelt, the wardrobe, so beautiful! I feel it was a time that I want to recreate for my audience."
The Wild Cherryz draw their audience in by bringing them back to an era, as if they feel they are actually living in the 1930s. Launched in 2012, 'Arcana Lace' tells the story of a lone, lost girl, titled "The Fool," seeking the guidance of a fortune teller, who reveals her fate through a series of tarot card readings. The wise crone details the protagonist's past and present triumphs over her three tormentors: her lover, mother and madame.
The show's music is performed by female drummer Kaytee Doyle and Jess DeBellis on the Piano. Cast members include Jillian Lawton as "The Fool," Laura Mallon as "The Magician," Carolina Read as "Mother/High Priestess," Jessica Treubig as "The Lover/ The Chariot," Karissa White as "The Singer" and Elizabeth DeGennaro as "Temperance/The Devil." Dylan Smith serves as the Choreographer.
Ms. DeGennaro not only performs a lead role in "Arcana Lace," she serves as Producer, Director, Costume Designer, Music and Lighting Director as well as Co-Choreographer.
Tickets to the November 22nd show at The Cutting Room (44 East 32nd Street) can be purchased at . The show starts at 10 pm and runs for 75 minutes, doors open at 9:30. Advanced tickets are $20.00, with a $20.00 Food/Drink Minimum.
