(firmenpresse) - GRAND FORKS, ND -- (Marketwired) -- 11/05/13 -- and announced today that , taking place Feb. 10-12 in Grand Forks, ND, will receive significant collaborative support from the , including the , as well as the .

Joining forces with UND ensures that the conference program will include perspectives from researchers and petroleum engineers from what is fast becoming one of the top oilfield-focused engineering schools in the nation. The partnership also carries with it an added degree of contextual industry knowledge that will add rich value to the agenda.

"Our goal with this conference is to look at how the techniques, strategies and technological know-how being employed in the Williston Basin today are accelerating the retrieval and movement of remote Williston Basin crude oil from resource to refinement," says Luke Geiver, editor of . "We think what's happening here in North Dakota will have significant and lasting effects on the way shale oil and gas plays around the globe are explored, developed and extracted."

Geiver says, "Having the University of North Dakota involved in our conference is extremely exciting, they recently announced they are building a new energy facility called, the Collaborative Energy Complex, they recently received a large donation from Harold Hamm, the CEO of , that gave him naming rights to the Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering. In addition, enrollment at the school has skyrocketed and UND's engineering students are being sought after by large petroleum and engineering companies. The positive activities taking place at UND's College of Engineering and Mines are tremendous."

Geiver later adds, "We are also developing a poster session, in collaboration with UND, where college students and researchers can showcase their cutting-edge research to oil and gas executives attending the event."

The conference breakout sessions will showcase 120+ industry experts who are currently utilizing or developing new innovations and approaches to yielding greater efficiencies in the Bakken-Three Forks shale formations. In addition, attendees will learn upstream and downstream advancements in the Williston Basin that are impacting shale oil E&P and logistics globally.

The show will also have an exhibit hall, where exhibitors will have the ability to share their latest technologies and services with industry decision-makers who are looking for solutions to the challenges they face in one of the most extreme climates. More importantly, these solutions are not just limited to the Bakken play -- they are critical to the success of oil recovery from every shale formation across the globe. "Portions of the agenda are geared towards drilling, operating and completion companies who are looking for new efficiencies to make their process more efficient," Geiver adds.

The event will be held at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, which was the recent site of the North Dakota Petroleum Council's Annual Meeting. "We decided to hold the conference in Grand Forks for a number of reasons," says Joe Bryan, CEO of BBI International, the company that owns and operates . "The Grand Forks community is extremely supportive of the developments in the Bakken play and has shown strong support for new and existing businesses that are looking to get involved in North Dakota's growing oil industry. Second, the facilities in Grand Forks are world-class. The Alerus Center and new surrounding hotels help create a very positive experience for conference attendees."
