JDSU and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications Extend Scholarship Program
Collaboration Helps Prepare Students to Become the Next Generation of Network Engineers
(firmenpresse) - MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/31/13 -- JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) today announced that it has continued its scholarship program with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) for a second three-year term to support students pursuing advanced telecommunications and engineering degrees. Today, the two organizations and fifteen students participated in a ceremony celebrating the continued collaboration at the BUPT headquarters in Beijing, China.
In 2011, JDSU and BUPT established both the scholarship program and an optical network test lab at the university. Currently more than one hundred students have received the scholarship for studies and research in the areas of information and communications networks. JDSU has also donated a wide range of test instruments and optical communications equipment for the lab so that students can conduct live network testing as part of their studies.
