Chartwell Announces Top 10 Senior Star National Finalists
(firmenpresse) - MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/25/13 -- Now in its 7th year, Chartwell's Senior Star continues to gain considerable momentum and popularity in Canada. Hundreds of talented seniors auditioned across the country and judges have officially selected the top 10 finalists who will be moving on to compete at the National Final:
The National Final will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Fallsview Theatre at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Over 50 regional Senior Star competitions took place in June hosted by Chartwell retirement and long term care homes across Canada. The first and second place winners in those competitions were considered by the celebrity judges for eligibility as one of the top 8 finalists. The final two contestants are the first and second place winners of Quebec's Etoile des aines provincial competition.
We are pleased to welcome back the talented Dinah Christie as host of this year's Final. Our esteemed panel of celebrity judges includes Canadian icon Gordie Tapp, recording artist Tim Louis and Canadian pop singer and musical theater actress Patsy Gallant. Singer-songwriter Dan Clancy will offer his expertise as a coach and support to our 10 finalists.

Last year, Lucile Graveline of Granby, Quebec was crowned Chartwell's 2012 Senior Star winner with her impeccable vocal performance of Puccini's famous arias, "O mio babbino caro."
