REMINDER/Media Advisory: PIPSC to Reveal Findings of a Major Survey Documenting "Muzzling" Among Federal Scientists
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/21/13 -- On Monday October 21st, Gary Corbett, President of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) will reveal the results of a major survey hosted by Environics Research to gauge the scale and impact of "muzzling" and political interference among federal scientists.
Between June 5 and 19, 2013, 15,398 federal scientists represented by PIPSC received an invitation to take part in an online survey on science and the federal public service. More than 4,000 participated.
Speakers:
PIPSC is the largest union representing scientists and other professionals in Canada, including more than 20,000 federal scientists who help ensure the safety of Canada's food, air, water, medicines, energy, consumer products, protection of the environment and long-term economic viability.
