Save the Children and Celebrities Team Up to Race for Survival

Celebrities join free-runners in innovative new global campaign film for Save the Children.
Actress and Save the Children Ambassador Isla Fisher, legendary Kenyan marathon runner Patrick Makau Musyoki, Bollywood star and Save the Children Ambassador Kunal Kapoor, and US actor and dancer Cameron Boyce, feature alongside children and young acrobats, parkourists and free-runners from around the world in an energetic new film from Save the Children.
Every five seconds, a child dies needlessly from preventable causes. This new film, which shows children and celebrities taking part in a global relay race, travels from rural Kenya to woods in California, via Nairobi, Mumbai, Honolulu and Los Angeles, and aims to inspire people to join Save the Children's global campaign to end this injustice. The film is being launched around the world in conjunction with Save the Children's global Day of Action on the 23rd October, when over 50,000 children in 67 countries will take part in campaign activities including a global relay race called the Race for Survival.

Background to Save the Children's global campaign, EVERY ONE:
The aim of Save the Children's global campaign EVERY ONE is that no child under the age of five dies from preventable causes, and that public attitudes will not tolerate high levels of child deaths. Save the Children's Global Day of Action on October 23rd is shining a light on the gross injustice of preventable child deaths and pushing for accelerated progress to save children's lives. This year over 50,000 children in more than 67 countries will call on their leaders to take urgent action in the fight against preventable child deaths.
Film description: In the opening scene, we see a young girl in rural Kenya. She hands a red baton to a boy who runs across hilly pasture to pass the baton to Patrick Makau Musyoki. The former marathon world record holder completes his leg of this global relay and the baton is passed to children in Nairobi, Mumbai, Honolulu and Los Angeles. Locations twist and turn across graffiti-filled streets and through crowded slums as the children do increasingly awe-inspiring things to get to the next baton exchange - leaping over fences and off walls, performing cartwheels, front flips and more. Kunal Kapoor runs along the ruins of an old fort on the outskirts of Mumbai, Isla Fisher sprints with the Los Angeles skyline behind her and Cameron Boyce breakdances with the baton in the city centre. Finally, running through the California woods, the baton is taken by a small child who holds it out to the camera. "It's over to you" states the end frame.
