JW Marriott Hotel Pune Undertook a Number of Initiatives for "Joy of Giving Week 2013"

JW Marriott Hotel Pune conducts the 'Joy of Giving' week each year. This year, had two kinds of initiatives, all focused at underprivileged children. One was to conduct activities and donate items to an NGO, and the other was to raise funds, the proceeds of which will be channeled to the Marriott Home in Chennai. A 'Wish Tree' was put up in the lobby for the guests to pledge cash contributions towards Marriott Home.
JW Marriott Hotel Pune plans to donate toys and stationery to Door Step School, arrange for a Zoo trip, a Kid Zone, and donate old blankets and bed sheets. Additionally, they will hold a donation drive amongst its associates for the children of Sparsh Balgram, an NGO adopted by the JW Marriott Hotel Pune. The hotel will also host a stall for displaying the work of 'Maher' in its lobby for its guests and associates. Maher is an NGO that provides home to destitute women and children to help them enhance their capabilities.
As a part of the fund raising activity, JW Marriott Hotel Pune will make special 'Joy of Giving' cupcakes, which will be sold at BMC Software to raise funds. JW Marriott Hotel Pune will also have a 'special dish of the day' and the funds collected from both of these will be given to Marriott Home in Chennai. (The Marriott Home started out In April 2004 as a housing for 27 children with leprosy from Chennai.) Now, the Marriott Home can accommodate almost 400 children. Here, children attend school on campus where they learn English, computer & other necessary skills.
