Gilbarco Veeder-Root Partners With National Payment Card Association (NPCA), Offering Low-Cost ACH Mobile- and Card-Based Payments
(firmenpresse) - GREENSBORO, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/11/13 -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root today announced a strategic partnership with National Payment Card Association (NPCA), adding a robust, low-cost ACH payment solution to Gilbarco's payment technologies suite. The relationship promises lower transaction fees and increased consumer loyalty for Gilbarco's customers. The partnership will also facilitate Gilbarco's cost-effective mobile payment option across its Passport® point-of-sale network.
Under the agreement, Gilbarco's c-store retailers will be able to upgrade their loyalty cards into debit cards tied directly to consumer checking accounts. Because the payments are processed directly from a consumer's bank account, merchants avoid credit and debit card swipe fees.

The merchant-branded and controlled payment option will be available in Gilbarco's card- and mobile-based ecosystem. In the future, NPCA will serve as one of the payment processors inside Gilbarco's cloud-based mobile payment offering, a key feature to be offered to Passport users. This is a proven model, with NPCA having set up similar programs for individual c-store chains under their private labels.
