Minister Finley Announces Appointments to Defence Construction Canada Board of Directors
(firmenpresse) - GATINEAU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/10/13 -- The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, announced today the appointment of Lori O'Neill and the re-appointment of Marc Ouellet as members of the Board of Directors of Defence Construction Canada.
"I am very pleased to announce the appointment of a new member and the re-appointment of a current member to the Board of Directors of Defence Construction Canada," said Minister Finley. "I am certain that Ms. O'Neill and Mr. Ouellet's experience and knowledge will greatly benefit the Board."
Directors are selected on the basis of their professional background, expertise and experience in the fields of infrastructure and the environment, which includes construction, civil engineering, energy, utilities and sustainable development. These appointments are effective immediately.
Ms. O'Neill, of Ottawa, is a chartered accountant who retired from Deloitte after 24 years of service. She has a keen interest in corporate governance, serves as co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Ottawa Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and is a member of various boards, including the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University.
Mr. Ouellet, also of Ottawa, is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Air Force Air War College, who retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after a 32-year career, during which he held several command appointments. Mr. Ouellet is an aerospace and security consultant and has been serving as a member of Defence Construction Canada's board since 2009.
Defence Construction Canada reports to Parliament through the Minister of Public Works and Government Services. Its mission is to provide timely, effective and efficient project delivery and full life-cycle support for infrastructure and environmental assets required for the defence of Canada.
