Threadless Debuts Winning Designs From Marvel's Thor Challenge
Six T-Shirt Designs Chosen by Community of Art and Comic Book Enthusiasts for New Collection
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/10/13 -- Threadless, the global design community, today announced the winners of its newest design contest with Marvel -- the Thor Design Challenge. Threadless and Marvel invited independent artists across the Web to design tees using some of their favorite characters in the Marvel universe inspired by Thor. Submissions were then evaluated and scored by the Threadless community, to create unique designs unlike any other Marvel superhero tee on the market.
"Our ongoing partnership with Marvel has brought inspiration to hundreds of Marvel fans, and produced some incredible designs," said Threadless CEO, Jake Nickell. "We are excited to debut this new Thor collection, and to showcase unique designs created by incredibly talented artists."
Four hundred and nineteen artists submitted, and 135,000 votes helped to select six designs for the new collection. To date, Threadless maintains a community of 2.7 million artists and art enthusiasts, and has paid out $8,744,411 to more than 1,200 artists.
"Thank you Threadless for choosing our design, and thank you very much for the opportunity to work, even indirectly with you, it is a great happiness!" said Wagner Nogueria of Brazil, whose collaborative design, Thor: A God Among Worlds, with Dina Prasetyawan from Indonesia was chosen as part of the collection.
