The Farmer's Almanac predicts a harsh winter with "significant snowfalls forecast for parts of every zone" in Canada. Official measurements will be taken at designated weather stations on January 1, 2014 and those who booked in the qualifying time period, for travel between November 1, 2013 and April 30, 2014 will be refunded the cost of their vacation, less the taxes and fees. Past winners have come from Montreal (2008) and Halifax (2009).
