Brighton College Announces New Structural and Building Technology Diploma Program
Brighton College, a well established vocational school, has recently announced its newest engineering program.
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- Brighton College, a reputable Vancouver-based career college, officially announced the launch of its newest program, the Structural and Building Technology Diploma.
The first intake for the Structural and Building Technology Diploma was September 23rd, with regular and consistent intakes scheduled thereafter. This hands-on instructor-led program features experiential lectures and workshops which are facilitated by industry experts. Additionally, students will end the program with a 4 week practicum at one of various small or mid-sized engineering firms within the Lower Mainland.
Brighton College's Structural and Building Technology program was created due to the increase in demand for workers within the civil engineering industry in Vancouver and surrounding areas. With the recent civil engineering developments within the city and province, engineering firms are constantly looking to hire skilled, qualified and certified individuals.
Within the program, students are taught civil engineering bridge and pavement methodologies, local building code, project estimating, construction inspection and management and high level computer aided design modeling software. AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and Tekla will all be taught within this diploma program, ensuring students obtain the necessary skills needed to be successful within the industry. Specifically, courses include Building Piping Services, Structural Design and Analysis, as well as Concrete and Structural Steel Design and Detailing. Program graduation requires the successful completion of all courses including 4 weeks of practicum.
