Conclusion of Collective Bargaining with Unifor, Local 1016
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- NAV CANADA today announced the conclusion of collective bargaining with Unifor, Local 1016, which represents approximately 270 employees working as Air Traffic Operational Specialists and Operational Training Specialists in Area Control Centres as well as a variety of positions in the Ottawa area involved with Aeronautical Information Services, Flight Billing, NOTAM and National Systems Control Centre.
An arbitration board decision provides for a collective agreement that will run until June 30, 2016 and awards wage increases of 1 per cent on July 1, 2013 and January 1, 2014, with 2 per cent increases on July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015.
Also included in this agreement is the introduction of a new hire pension plan arrangement effective January 1, 2014 plus other measures which, once implemented, would assist in sustaining the legacy pension plan for current employees on a long term basis.

With operations from coast to coast to coast, NAV CANADA provides air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, aeronautical information services, airport advisory services and electronic aids to navigation.
