Swinerton and Sharp HealthCare Kick Off Psychiatric Hospital Remodel
(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- In a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday, joined representatives from and local mental health advocates to kick off major design-build renovations to the Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, San Diego County's largest private psychiatric hospital. With design by , the remodel will boost inpatient capacity and services with new beds, treatment rooms, and recovery spaces. Exterior improvements will enhance the main entry to welcome patients and visitors.
Swinerton will also renovate existing patient rooms, nurse stations, communal areas, and administrative space, allowing the 50-year-old hospital to provide facilities matching its modern care delivery. Sharp Mesa Vista offers a wide range of behavioral health services for adults and children, including treatment for substance abuse, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and eating disorders.
The hospital will remain fully occupied during the renovation, which will be completed in two phases to minimize disruption. Swinerton's construction team will work closely with Sharp staff to ensure patient safety and comfort while work is completed on five separate areas of the facility totaling approximately 17,000 square feet. Security barriers will be placed for work around sensitive lock-down areas, and workers will be easily identified in custom-designed green vests emblazoned with a "tree of life" image -- a symbol of solidarity with the healing efforts of patients and staff.
The renovations are expected to be complete in December 2014.
