Time to Submit Your Activities to the FCAC Calendar of Events for Financial Literacy Month 2013
In collaboration with FCAC, organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors are joining together to provide Canadians with a calendar full of activities and events that will take place across the country during the month of November.
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- Every year, November 1 marks the kick-off of (FLM) in Canada. Led by the (FCAC), FLM is an opportunity for all interested Canadians to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence in order to make informed financial decisions.
Under the theme of "Financial Literacy across Generations," FCAC is proud to play a role in raising awareness of FLM and encouraging the participation of various organizations across Canada. "We are encouraging community groups as well as government and private sector organizations to plan activities or events that will help young people, adults and senior citizens increase their level of financial literacy," said FCAC Commissioner Lucie Tedesco.
Once again, a user-friendly calendar of events will be available online, listing all the activities that will be taking place in November throughout Canada. Organizations are encouraged to add their events to the calendar from which people will be able to search to find out what events are happening according to region, date and time of day. Organizations that are planning to hold an event for FLM can register it in the Calendar of events by visiting .
During FLM 2012, Canadians took part in over 260 events organized by nearly 60 different organizations across the country. Again this year, organizations and companies across Canada will present a variety of activities, including seminars and workshops, as a way of providing a wealth of information on subjects such as personal financial management, creating and sticking to a budget, credit cards and much more.
"As a result of the partnerships forged through Financial Literacy Month, more Canadians are able to take advantage of a broad range of resources on financial services and products," said Commissioner Tedesco.
The workshop can be used by organizations looking to host a financial literacy event. The workshop kit includes a participant's handbook, a presenter's manual, presentation slides and promotional material.
