National Research Council to Announce New Energy Storage Program at RESS2013
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/23/13 -- The National Research Council of Canada will announce a new program which aims to support the development of energy storage projects across the country and includes opportunities for wind developers and energy storage providers on October 7th at the .
Andy Reynolds, General Manager, Energy, Mining and Environment, at the National Research Council of Canada will announce the details of the energy storage program at the Summit. NRC's program will establish collaboration and co-investment opportunities for technology developers, system integrators and end users that will strengthen Canada's energy storage value chain and facilitate the integration of renewables, including wind energy, into a modernized electricity grid.
Organized by Canadian Clean Energy Conferences, the Renewable Energy Storage Summit is co-located and supported by CanWEA2013 - Canada's largest wind conference. It is a must-attend event for wind developers, energy storage providers, utilities and system operators as it will outline the economics and business case for wind-storage projects across Canada.
Over 25 speakers are confirmed to participate including senior representatives from IESO, AESO, PJM Interconnection, RES Canada, Brookfield Renewable Power Inc., Hydro Quebec, NB Power, Duke Energy, Renewable Energy Developers Inc., Northland Power, Cowessess First Nation, Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, Nalcor Energy, GDF Suez, Temporal Power, NRStor Inc., Convergent Energy and Power, and MaRS Cleantech Fund. Hydrogenics and Schneider Electric are now sponsors of this inaugural Summit which will provide attendees with the full picture of how energy storage will change the business landscape for wind energy across the country.
The Summit will provide details on the economics, finance, ROI, performance and operation of wind-storage technologies. It will also offer insight on how system operators and utilities view storage and its impacts on wind as well as new project opportunities for wind storage hybrids in remote locations across Canada.
