Hensel Phelps and juwi Wind Lead Group Serving Defense and Army Corp

(firmenpresse) - BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/17/13 -- Boulder-based juwi Wind, LLC and Greeley, Colorado-based Hensel Phelps, leading members of the Turn Key Power Consortium (TKPC), are recipients of a Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) for wind technology award by the Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE), Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. The award qualifies the TKPC to compete for future wind renewable energy task orders issued under the MATOC by ACOE or the Department of Defense. juwi Wind and Hensel Phelps were bolstered by their belief in partnership, with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Black and Veatch Special Projects Corporation and Granite Construction strengthening the application as key subcontractors.

juwi Wind CEO Michael Rucker stated, "juwi Wind is proud to support both the Department of Defense and the Army Corp in their efforts to meet renewable energy objectives in years to come. These goals are achievable and will be supported by the team of high-quality Turn Key Consortium partners."

Hensel Phelps Operations Manager, Joe Giunta, offered that "the award is a testament to the collaboration in our partnership, particularly juwi Wind, Jacobs and Black and Veatch, that led to our proposal meeting and exceeding the MATOC requirements. We look forward toward serving the military's renewable energy standards in the future."

Wind is the third of four technologies under the $7 billion Renewable and Alternative Energy for Department of Defense Installations MATOC. In 2012, the White House and the Department of Defense committed to the use of clean energy on Army, Navy and Air Force installations by 2025. Based on past performance and a commitment to the small business community, Turn Key Power Consortium was identified by the Army Corp of Engineers as an ideal partner to take the next step towards three gigawatts of renewable energy projects by 2025.

juwi Wind, LLC is a subsidiary of the juwi Group, a major international developer of renewable energy projects. juwi Group has been designing, building and operating plants that harness renewable energy since 1996, and to date juwi Group has installed approximately 700 wind turbines worldwide at 100 sites, producing a total output of approximately 1400MW. juwi Wind, LLC is based in Boulder, Colorado.
