Video Contest kicks Off Financial Literacy Month: FCAC Invites Young Canadians to Put Their Creativity to Good Use by Producing a Video

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/13/13 -- As part of (FLM) starting on November 1, the (FCAC) announced its second annual video contest today. With the theme "How talking about money with... helped me...," the contest invites young Canadians aged 13 to 19 (as of November 30, 2013) to submit a 30-second to 2-minute video in which they demonstrate how the fact of talking about money with someone close to them helped them reach a specific financial goal. The videos must end with the line: "Financial Understanding. It Just Adds Up."

A panel of three judges chosen by FCAC will evaluate the videos received from all participants eligible for the contest. Marks will be given on the basis of the creativity, production quality and messaging of the submission. The creators of the top three videos chosen by the panel will receive:

A special "People's Choice" award of a $50 iTunes gift card will be given to the creator of the video that gets the most "likes" on YouTube by December 11. On December 4, the videos of eight finalists will be featured on the FCAC's , and the names of all the winners will be posted on FCAC's website by December 13.

To participate in the contest, entrants must send their video presentation in English or in French with a completed Entry Form to FCAC by November 30, 2013. The videos must be in MPEG4 format, in either standard definition or high definition. To be eligible, entrants under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Only videos that meet the rules and eligibility criteria for participants in the contest will be uploaded onto FCAC's YouTube channel.
