Hon. Steve Mahoney, President of the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada (RSIC) to host MPP 'Drop-in' Breakfast Reception in Anticipation of the Introduction of Bill 96, An Act to Raise Awareness about Radon.

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/11/13 -- Radon is a colourless, odourless, radioactive gas that contributes to 16 per cent of lung cancer deaths in Canada (Health Canada.)

A 'drop-in' breakfast reception on Thursday, September 12 at 8:30 am will be held in anticipation of the introduction of an important Private Members Bill that will focus on the issue of radon gas exposure in homes, schools, and the workplace. The bill will be introduced by MPP Shafiq Qaadri, and will be debated in the afternoon of September 12.

The reception, hosted by the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada (RSIC), together with the Ontario Lung Association and the Canadian Cancer Society, will take place in Room 228 of the Main Legislative Building, Queens Park. All MPPS, staff and media are invited to attend.
