Foster Kids 5k Raises Over $30K to Send Local Foster Kids to Summer Camp
Revel Consulting's Insights and Expertise Helped the Run Have Its Best Year Yet
(firmenpresse) - KIRKLAND, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/10/13 -- On Aug. 17, 377 participants came together to run and raise $32,600 for local foster kids. All net profits benefit the Hope Alliance for Kids.
The Foster Kids 5k was founded by David and Adrienne Oliphant in 2009. In its 5th year, the annual run garnered both the largest net profit and largest number of registrants to date.
"Being runners ourselves, we were divinely inspired to use our gifts and relationships to help support an amazing cause," said Adrienne Oliphant. "It gives local foster children a place to go to feel safe, loved, encouraged and, most importantly, hope."
Through its sustainable giving program, Revel Consulting has worked with Foster Kids 5k for all five years. Beyond giving monetary support and donations Revel also provides pro-bono consulting services.
"We try to ensure the Foster Kids 5k and the other non-profits we support can sustain their cause long-term," said Vikas Kamran, Revel's CEO. "So, we're happy to lend the insights and skills our associates have to offer."
This year, the insights and skills provided included marketing, social media and design.
"Revel means so much to the 5k," said Adrienne Oliphant, Co-Founder of the Foster Kids 5k. "We really felt this year was our best yet with Revel."
The Hope Alliance for Kids provides camp programs and support to foster children and their families. Their goal is for every foster child, between the ages of seven and fifteen, in King County to be able to attend a summer camp filled with life changing experiences and love. They focus on meeting the needs of abused and neglected children.
Hope Alliance for Kids' website cites 10,000 kids are in Washington State's foster care system.
