4th BioMarine(TM) Business Convention Welcomes Industry Leaders to Halifax
NRC helping biomarine industries to innovate and succeed
(firmenpresse) - HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/09/13 -- Industry leaders from around the world are gathering in Halifax to discuss the future of business in the fast-growing biomarine sector. The 4th BioMarine™ Business Convention, co-organized by BioTopics SAS and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), will tackle three major themes: marine natural products, aquaculture and aquafeed, and, marine biotechnologies.
BioMarine™ Business Conventions are dedicated to the advancement of the global biomarine industry. The international conventions bring together innovators, business leaders, investors, marine scientists, researchers, governments and civil societies in their quest to find innovations for sustainable local and international marine economies in marine bioresources and biotechnologies.
"NRC works directly with biomarine industries and helps them to identify their needs and seize opportunities for success," said Denise LeBlanc, General Manager of Aquatic and Crop Resource Development at the National Research Council of Canada. "And through the Industrial Research Assistance Program, we provide relevant information, advisory services and funding to help move the research in the right direction."
As part of the convention, NRC is organizing a EUREKA Day on September 11, to encourage partnerships and projects in the biomarine sector. Canada joined EUREKA as an associate member in 2012. The European-based network of 40-plus member countries supports market-driven industrial research and development. Innovative small and medium-sized enterprises can access EUREKA through NRC's Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP).
