Royal Military College Saint-Jean Inaugurates its Hall of Fame

(firmenpresse) - SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 09/07/13 -- Today, Royal Military College Saint-Jean inaugurated its Hall of Fame, during which the Honourable Joseph A. Day, Senator, General (retired) Walt Natynczyk, Lieutenant-General (retired) Richard Evraire, and professor Jacques Castonguay, former Royal Military College Saint-Jean Principal, were formally inducted in the Hall of Fame. Lieutenant-General the Honourable Romeo A. Dallaire (Retired) Senator, who was also selected as an inductee, will be inducted at a later date.

"I am delighted with the inauguration of the Royal Military College Saint-Jean Hall of Fame," said General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff. "Today's event also serves to recognize the remarkable achievements of three Ex-Cadets and one former Principal in many areas of Canadian society. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize these tremendous individuals, all of whom have selflessly contributed so much to the nation."

The Royal Military College Saint-Jean Hall of Fame is established to recognize those who have brilliantly contributed to the Canadian Armed Forces, their community and Canadian society and whose careers was greatly influenced or related to Royal Military College Saint-Jean - either as students or staff. The inauguration of the Royal Military College Saint-Jean Hall is made possible thanks to the generous contribution of the College militaire royal de Saint-Jean Ex-Cadet Foundation, the Class of 1963 and the Fort Saint-Jean Branch.

"Today's inauguration is the fruition of a visionary project initiated by the former Commandant of the College, Colonel Guy Maillet", explained the current Commandant, Colonel Jennie Carignan. "The Hall of Fame and its Royal Military College Saint-Jean Ex-Cadets inductees will be an endless source of inspiration and motivation for current and future officer cadets."

Induction ceremonies will be held yearly at Royal Military College Saint-Jean. Potential candidates must have studied at, been employed as a member of the faculty or staff at, or have had a notable involvement with Royal Military College Saint-Jean over the course of its existence since 1952.





The mission of Royal Military College Saint-Jean is to integrate, evaluate and develop its officer cadets for successful careers as commissioned officers in the Canadian Armed Forces by means of its academic, leadership, sports and bilingualism programs. These are the four components upon which Royal Military College Saint-Jean's curriculum is based. The College provides a seamless transition from high school to university by providing college-level and first-year university programmes in Science and Social Science.
