Two Leading Philanthropists, Entrepreneurs and Longtime Friends Join Forces to Create a New Company to Ensure and Recognize the Contributions of Donors and Honorees

ID: 1260533

(firmenpresse) - NORWOOD, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/04/13 -- Stephen Rubin, a former CEO of successful software companies, and Jim Rapoport, President of Honorcraft, a 50-year-old company that creates highly sought-after donor recognition announce that they have teamed to create Recognisis.

Recognisis will focus on making the work of Donor Relations and Stewardship more effective and efficient. Both Steve and Jim understand the consequences -- among colleges, universities, hospitals and other organizations -- when donor recognition is sometimes removed, damaged or lost due to the construction of a new facility or remodeling of an existing building.

"Both Steve and I have witnessed firsthand how the lack of tracking the recognition items (plaques, artwork, trees, bricks etc.) for a donor or honoree can affect the donor or the family and adversely impact long-term giving to the institution. Our new product, Plaque Traquer, has a comprehensive database and easy-to-use interface enabling users to create pride and institutional motivation," says Jim Rapoport, co-founder of Recognisis.

"For years, Jim and I have discussed how plaques and recognition items have special importance to donors and their families. These materials also demonstrate the appreciation of the organization and the need to better track such assets," states Steve Rubin, CEO of Recognisis.

Currently, the company is working with leading software developers to complete their first offering: Plaque Traquer, which is a powerful tool for Donor Relations and Stewardship offices to manage images of recognition items, record physical details about the items and help protect those items during moves, renovations and when the need to store such items arises.

"We have invested considerable research and testing into Plaque Traquer and are very excited with the upcoming release of the product now. This innovative tool will transform the way organizations track, record and recognize the contributions of their donors," says Mr. Rubin.

Recognisis is the brainchild of a team of accomplished software development veterans and successful entrepreneurs who want to address a difficult challenge facing fundraisers: Delivering stewardship to respect and remember donors, thereby making sure that donors and honorees know that institutions care about their support.
