Top School Finds Value in Capturing Student and Alumni Opinions to Enhance Experience

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/04/13 -- Vision Critical, the leading provider of insight community technologies, today announced its partnership with the University of British Columbia (UBC) to launch the Open Minds Forum, a private online community created for UBC to engage with its students and alumni. Powered on the Vision Critical Insight Community technology platform, the Open Minds Forum will help UBC get closer to its students and alumni and improve its services and communications.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Vision Critical is working with UBC to recruit approximately 5,000 students and alumni to become members of the Open Minds Forum. UBC will use the community to capture insights from its members on an ongoing basis about services, marketing communications, program development and more. Through its insight community, UBC will obtain continuous student and alumni feedback, which will be a significant resource for the institution in the decision-making process.

"We're excited to join forces with Vision Critical in creating the Open Minds Forum, and we look forward to leveraging its industry leading technology to generate timely and valuable insights," said Kari Grist, managing director, communications and marketing for UBC. "The Open Minds Forum will enable us to better understand our students and alumni, which will be invaluable in creating new programs, updating communications and ensuring that we're delivering the best services to our current and former students."

"By working with UBC in developing the Open Minds Forum, Vision Critical is helping the university get closer to its audience so that it can make informed choices for students and alumni - something completely new in the learning space," said Andrew Reid, founder, president and chief product officer of Vision Critical. "I'm honored to be working with one of Canada's top higher education institutions, and I am thrilled that the school is taking an innovative approach to getting input for its programs and initiatives."

The Open Minds Forum will enable UBC to connect with members on an ongoing basis in order to gain insights, while also closing the feedback loop to show community members that their voice is being heard. Community recruitment is ongoing, and if interested in joining the Open Minds Forum, please contact .
