World's First Fashion Incubator Presents 4th International Fashion Incubator Conference

Top fashion industry professionals from around the globe are heading to Toronto to take part in an enlightening three day event where thought leaders and entrepreneurs, will glean, grow and educate. From October 21st to 23rd the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) will host international delegates at the International Fashion Incubator Conference (IFIC), an exceptional event born eight years ago creating an opportunity for fashion incubator executives and industry members to learn, share and network on a global scale.
In 1987 Toronto's TFI was the first of its kind - a nurturing, instructive environment for young Canadian fashion talent in need of work space, resources and mentoring. 26 years later, dozens of cities worldwide have taken Toronto's cue and established incubators of their own, including New York, London, Milan, Chicago and Perth. Joined by the latest crop of Toronto fashion entrepreneurs, it's time for everyone to celebrate and brainstorm in the city where it all started.

IFIC Highlights
Experts, veterans and bright lights are lined up to present on four main rubrics: Going Global, Sharing Best Practices, Future Forward and Funding Your Fashion Incubator. Industry leaders will discuss eco-ethical fashion, the future of retail, local manufacturing, global opportunities for designers, and much more. One seminar will be led by retail mogul and co-founder of Roots Canada Michael Budman, who will be sharing his expertise on the benefits of local production. Robert Ott, Chair of the School of Fashion at Ryerson University, will speak about advancing entrepreneurship models in higher education. Public and private sector funding are also topics being discussed by the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario and Target Canada.
