Canadian Author Supports Cancer Research, Treatment, and Prevention
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/27/13 -- Canadian writer, Michael Alexander, author of the new fictitious thriller, The Seventh Day, has generously agreed to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society half of his proceeds from the sale of his novel. Through the launch of this Canadian author's debut novel, there is hope that its sales will generate a substantial donation to support cancer research, treatment, and prevention.
"This seemed like a creative way to give more to the Canadian Cancer Society than I would have been able to, had I not entered into such an agreement. Maybe other self-employed artists, or entrepreneurs will see this as an opportunity for them to help as well," says Alexander.
The Seventh Day plays on the notion that God did not actually create our solar system in seven days but rather seven phases in time, marked by significant scientific events. This phase in time is "the seventh day", the "day" when God is resting. Because God rests, there is nobody to expel the evil and tragedy from our world. As a result, humanity is plagued by terrorism, torture, murder, disease and more. Through his investigations, Detective Nick McCallister comes to realize this, and that the ultimate evil is yet to be sprung upon an unsuspecting world. McCallister must find a way to stop it from happening.
Alexander adds, "My intention is for people to buy my book only if they would like to read my work, and in doing so, they will be supporting the Canadian Cancer Society. If they do want to support a cause, but aren't interested in reading The Seventh Day, then they can donate directly to the Society at the following link:
