Patent Covers Composition of LunaRich Material and Technology Promoting Bioavailability

The composition of matter patent protects the LunaRich technology as it relates to its superior ability to deliver bioactive lunasin to the body. The patent announcement comes only two weeks after Reliv entered into an exclusive license for the intellectual property of Soy Labs LLC related to the nutritional ingredient lunasin. The license covers a previously issued patent and several patent applications (one now granted) related to lunasin and soy-related peptides, proprietary information and manufacturing processes.
The amount of lunasin in soybeans varies significantly based on seed, soil and environment. LunaRich uses specially selected soybeans grown exclusively for Reliv with highly concentrated levels of bioactive lunasin.
LunaRich's unique refinement process retains a more uniform and integrated "shell" of protease inhibitors, which serve as protective chaperone molecules to better protect the lunasin from being destroyed in the stomach. The shell is then broken down to allow for maximum absorption of lunasin in the small intestine, where it can provide the greatest benefit. .
