New Canadian Forces Provost Marshal and Commander Canadian Forces Military Police Group

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/23/13 -- The Canadian Forces Military Police Group has a new Commander and the Canadian Armed Forces has a new Canadian Forces Provost Marshal today.

Colonel Rob Delaney assumed command of the Canadian Forces Military Police Group from Colonel Tim Grubb this morning in an official ceremony at Connaught Range. The ceremony was presided over by Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff.

"I am truly honoured to preside over a change of command between two highly accomplished and dedicated Military Police leaders," said Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff."Colonel Grubb has skillfully led the Military Police Group through an unprecedented period of change and reorganization during challenging times. I thank him for his counsel and his unwavering commitment to the Canadian Armed Forces and to the men and women of the Military Police Group. Colonel Delaney is an exceptionally professional officer who brings with him a great deal of experience and will undoubtedly serve both the Canadian Armed Forces and the Military Police Group well. His background is ideally suited to take on these very challenging roles and he commands the respect and confidence of our senior leadership."

Colonel Delaney is excited to take the reins of the Military Police Group.

The Military Police Branch has more than 2,000 military members augmented by civilian personnel working within more than 90 units and detachments across Canada and at its headquarters in Ottawa.

Colonel Delaney enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988 and commenced his Military Police career following graduation from the Royal Military College in Kingston in 1993. He has held numerous leadership positions across various functions including operational deployments in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2000 and Southern Afghanistan in 2007. Prior to his appointment as Canadian Forces Provost Marshal, Colonel Delaney was Deputy Commander of the Canadian Forces Military Police Group.





Colonel Grubb will assume the position of Departmental Security Officer, a key position overseeing security policy for the Department of National Defence.
